unusual category is for recording blanks which have either a generic label
on which to write details, or no label at all, whereby a label could be
typed or written and pasted on. All have been recorded on. There is no
indication as to when or who made the recordings.

The
Recording Blanks are made by Byer Industries Pty Ltd, Melbourbne, Australia,
and have BRS in large letters centrally, with a six-digit number.
The BAYER RECORDING BLANK label has a green background label on whcih to
type (or write): SPEED, START, TITLE, RECORDIST, DATE. It was ‘Manufactured
by Byer Industries Pty Ltd, Melbourne, Australia'. Note that the label
could be typed, hence was then pasted over a recording blank (record),
probably made by Byer. Note: Two numerals are typed in the ‘SPEED' area,
however the digits vary greatly and they no doubt reflect the number of
the recording. The speed is probably 78 rpm. Where or why these recordings
were made I have no idea. Most of the discs have a light grey ‘fungus'
which could be removed with washing in warm water, however it is not known
is the fungus has damaged the groove over the years.
